Returns, Reservations and Cancellations Policies

Before booking a trip with Total Horizon please take the time to read and understand the Booking Conditions and additional special conditions below, which apply to specific trips and topics.
These conditions apply to reservations made after June 9, 2020, including new reservations created with credit vouchers issued after trip cancellations. These are designed to provide you with maximum flexibility.
Please take the time to read and understand the booking conditions set out below before booking a trip with us. We strongly recommend that you also read the Essential Travel Information and Travel-Related Important Notes before booking to ensure that you understand the itinerary, style, and physical demands of your business trip.
- Our Contract
All reservations are made with Total Horizon (us). By booking a trip with us, you have accepted the terms and conditions set out in:
(a) these Booking Conditions;
(b) Essential travel information that applies to your trip; Y
(c) any Special Conditions that may apply,
(which constitutes the entire agreement between you and us).
We will accept your reservation on these bases. The services that will be provided are those mentioned in the reservation confirmation invoice.
- Validity
Dates and itineraries are valid until December 31, 2021. Beyond December 31, 2021, dates and itineraries are indicative only.
- Deposit requirement
Except as established in the Special Conditions, you are obliged to pay a non-refundable deposit of US$400 per person and trip in order for your reservation to be confirmed. If your reservation is made within 21 days after the departure date, the full amount is paid at the time of booking. Deposit amounts vary for selected trips and one-time campaigns run by us from time to time as set forth in and subject to the Special Conditions.
- Acceptance of reservations and final payments
If we accept your reservation, we will issue you a reservation confirmation invoice. A contract will exist between you and us from the date we issue the confirmation invoice, or if you book within 21 days of departure, the contract will exist when we accept your payment. Please see your booking confirmation invoice for more information on final costs, including payment. The payment or the balance of the trip price must be paid 21 days before the departure date, unless otherwise established in the Special Conditions. If this balance is not paid before the due date, we reserve the right to treat your reservation as canceled, and the cancellation charges described in clause 7 (Cancellation by you) will apply.
- Prices and Charges
Our travel prices are subject to variable and seasonal prices, both of which are standard practices within the travel industry. This means that our travel prices can vary at any time due to demand, market conditions and availability. Different passengers on the same trip have probably been charged different prices. Your best bet if you like the price you see is to book now. Reduced prices or discounts that may be available after you have paid your deposit will not apply. If you wish to cancel your reservation to take advantage of a lower price, full cancellation conditions apply as set out below in clause 7 (Cancellation by you). The most up-to-date prices are available on our website. Prices are based on currency exchange rates as of June 2020; Please note that prices may vary depending on the currency in which the reservation is made. We reserve the right to impose surcharges up to 21 days prior to departure due to unfavorable changes in exchange rates, increases in airfares or other transportation costs, increases in the costs of local operators, taxes or if the action of the government should require us to do so. In such cases, we will be responsible for any amount up to 2% of the trip price, and you will be responsible for the balance. If any surcharge increases by more than 10% from the price of the trip, you can cancel the reservation within 14 days of notification of the surcharge and get a full refund. Taxes may apply to a purchase made with a credit card.
- Your detailed information
To confirm your travel arrangements, you must provide all requested details with the balance of the travel price. The details needed vary by trip; include, but are not limited to, full name based on passport, date of birth, nationality, passport number, passport issuance and expiration date, and any pre-existing medical conditions you have that may affect your ability to complete your travel arrangements. On some more demanding trips, we also require that you complete and submit a self-assessment form provided by your sales representative. - Cancellation on your part
If you cancel some or all parts of your reservation, the cancellation terms set out below will apply. A cancellation will only be effective when we receive the written confirmation sent to your corresponding sales representative of the cancellation. If you cancel a trip:
(a) 21 days or more before departure, we withdraw the deposit amount as a credit;
(b) 20 days or less before departure:
we will retain the 50% of the money paid by you in connection with the reservation as credit and we will keep the remaining 50% of the funds paid by you in connection with your reservation; or
If the cancellation is due to you having COVID-19 / "flu-like symptoms", supported by a medical certificate, we will have the 100% of the money paid by you connected to the reservation as a credit.
Any credit resulting from cancellation under clause 7 (Cancellation on your part) has no expiration date and can be applied to any other available trip offered by us. This credit is not transferable or redeemable for cash. This credit excludes flights or insurance, as they will have their reservation conditions.
Please note that different cancellation conditions apply to some trips and additional services as set out in the Special Conditions and Essential Travel Information related to your trip. Your reservation consultant will advise you if differences apply. It is strongly recommended that you take out cancellation insurance at the time of booking. If you abandon a trip for any reason after it has started, we are not required to make any refund for unused services. If you do not join a trip, join it after departure or leave it before its completion, no refund will be made. The above cancellation terms are in addition to the fees charged by accommodation providers, travel agents, or third party transportation and tour operator fees.
- Cancellation by us
Our trips are guaranteed to depart once they have a fully paid traveler unless the minimum group size specifically states otherwise (to be noted in your Essential Travel Information and / or Special Conditions) or when a Force Majeure Event results in the cancellation of a trip. Except when your trip is canceled due to a Force Majeure event (as defined below in this clause 8), you can transfer the amounts paid to an alternative departure date or receive a refund if we cancel your trip.
Cancellation due to Force Majeure
If a trip is canceled due to a Force Majeure event, we can offer you the option of:
(a) a credit from the 110% of the money paid for your trip; or
(b) a refund less sunk costs.
If cancellation due to a Force Majeure event occurs after a trip has started, we can offer you a pro-rata option:
(a) 110% of credit for the days you remain on your trip; or
(b) reimbursement less sunk costs for the days that remain on your trip.
Any credit resulting from cancellation under this clause 8 (Cancellation by us):
- It has no expiration date and can be applied to any other available trip offered by us;
- they are not exchangeable for cash;
- exclude flights or insurance, as they will have their reservation conditions.
In such circumstances, there will be no claim for damages by either party against the other, and we are not responsible for any incidental expenses that you may have incurred as a result of your booking, including but not limited to visas, vaccinations. , travel insurance, excess or non-refundable flights.
A "Force Majeure Event" includes, but is not limited to: acts of God; war; civil commotion; unrest; blockade or embargo; fire; explosion; decomposition; union dispute; earthquake; epidemic, pandemic or other health emergency; flood; windstorm or other extreme weather event; lack or failure of supply courses; approval of any law, order, proclamation, regulation, ordinance, demand, requisition or requirement or any other act of any governmental authority, beyond the reasonable control of the parties, whether foreseeable or not, which would make it dangerous or not feasible for a journey will begin or continue.
- Reserve Amendments
Transfers to a third party or to an alternative trip are only allowed when operationally possible and, in the case of transferring to a third party, when the transferee meets all the requirements on the trip. Specific charges may apply. Prices are set annually as defined in clause 5 above.
Modifications to your reservation are not allowed within 21 days prior to departure.
- Inclusions
The price of your trip includes:
- all accommodations listed in the Essential Travel Information
- all transportation listed in the Essential Travel Information
- sightseeing and meals as outlined in the Essential Travel Information
- the services of a group leader as described in the Essential Travel Information
- Exclusions
The price of your trip does not include:
- international or internal flights unless specified
- Airport transfers, taxes, and excess baggage charges unless specified
- meals other than those stated in the Essential Travel Information
- visa and passport fees
- travel insurance
- optional activities and all personal expenses
- Age and Health Requirements
Minimum age:
For most of our trips, the minimum age is 15 at the time of travel. All travelers under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a legal guardian, or instead of a legal guardian, by a person over the age of 18, designated by their legal guardian. The legal guardian or his / her designee will be responsible for the traveler under 18 years of age in the daily nursery. If a legal guardian decides to appoint an escort in your place, they will be asked to complete and sign a relevant document, delegating their authority.
Maximum age:
We do not have an upper age limit for most of our trips, although we remind you that our trips can be physically demanding, and passengers must ensure that they are suitably fit to allow full participation. We can provide details on mandatory health requirements; however, we are not medical experts. Your responsibility is to ensure that you obtain adequate and detailed medical advice at least two months prior to travel for the latest health requirements and recommendations for your destination.
- Additional Terms
Due to the nature of some of our trips, in addition to these Booking Conditions, you may need to sign and submit a separate waiver, different terms, and / or a release form to a third-party provider who is helping to run your trip. The terms of these Booking Conditions will prevail and will supersede any additional waivers to the extent that there are inconsistencies between these Booking Conditions and the additional disclaimer. We reserve the right to deny you participation if you have not signed a waiver.
- Passports and Visas
It is your responsibility to obtain information and have in your possession all the documentation and identification required for entry, exit and travel to each country or region that you visit on your trip. This includes a valid passport and all travel documents required by the relevant government authorities, including all visas, permits and certificates (including but not limited to vaccination or medical certificates) and insurance policies. Your passport must be valid 6 months after the last date of travel with is as stated in your itinerary. You accept full responsibility for obtaining all these documents, visas and permits before the start of the trips. You are solely responsible for the full amount of costs incurred due to missing or faulty documentation. You agree that you are responsible for the full amount of any loss or expense incurred by us that is the direct result of your lack of security or proper travel documentation.
- Travel insurance
Travel insurance is mandatory for all our travelers and must be withdrawn at the time of booking. Your travel insurance should provide coverage against personal accident, death, medical expenses, and emergency repatriation with a recommended minimum coverage of US$200,000 for each of the body categories. We also strongly recommend that you cover cancellation, reduction, personal liability, lost luggage, and personal effects. You must provide your travel insurance policy number and the 24-hour emergency contact number for the insurance company on the first day of your trip; You will not be able to join the trip without these details. If you have travel insurance connected to your credit card or bank account, make sure you have the details of the participating insurer, the insurance policy number and the emergency contact number with you instead of the bank name and details. credit card.
- Change of itinerary
You understand and acknowledge that the nature of this type of travel requires considerable flexibility, and must allow for alternatives. The planned itinerary for each trip represents the types of activities contemplated. Even so, it is understood that the route, schedules, itineraries, services and mode of transport may be subject to alterations without prior notice due to local circumstances or events.
While we endeavor to operate all trips as described, we reserve the right to change the itinerary of the trip. Please check our website prior to departure for the latest updates to your itinerary.
Before departure: If we make a significant change, we will inform you as soon as possible if there is time before departure. The definition of a substantial change is considered a change that affects at least one day in five of the itinerary; When a significant change is made, you can choose to accept the change, get a refund of money paid on the ground portion of the trip only, or accept an alternative trip offered.
After departure: We reserve the right to change an itinerary after launch due to local circumstances or a Force Majeure event. In such emergency circumstances, the additional cost of any necessary itinerary alteration will be covered by you. Please note that we are not responsible for incidental expenses that may be incurred due to changing itineraries, including but not limited to visas, vaccinations, or non-refundable flights.
- Authority on the Tour
A group leader conducts our trips. The group leader's decision is final on all matters that may affect the safety or well-being of any traveler or staff member participating in the trip. Suppose you do not comply with a decision made by a group leader or interfere with the well-being or mobility of the group. In that case, the group leader may order you to leave the trip immediately, without the right to a refund. We may also choose not to take you on any future booked trips. You must at all times comply with the drug laws, customs, currencies and regulations of all the countries visited.
- Risk acceptance
You acknowledge that the nature of the trip is perhaps adventurous, and participation involves a degree of personal risk. You can visit places where political, cultural and geographical attributes present dangers and physical challenges greater than those present in our daily lives.
You acknowledge that you are choosing to travel when you may be exposed to the COVID-19 virus. We will take all reasonable steps to ensure your safety and we may require you to follow additional security protocols on your trip.
We use information from foreign government departments and reports from our contacts to assess whether the itinerary should work. However, it is also your responsibility to familiarize yourself with all relevant travel information, including applicable health risks and the nature of your itinerary. You acknowledge that your decision to travel is made in light of consideration of this information, and you agree that you are aware of the personal risks involved in such travel. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we do not accept any responsibility for these additional risks.
- Responsibilities
19.1 To the maximum extent permitted by law, we may exclude all liability to you or anyone else (whether in tort or otherwise) for any loss (whether direct, indirect, consequential), including death or personal injury or Damages of any kind that may be suffered as a result of any act or omission whether negligent or otherwise by or on behalf of us in connection with the services or any other matter or thing related to these Booking Conditions except to the extent that such loss or damage is incurred as a direct result of our fraud or willful misconduct.
19.2 (Limitation of liability) When the law implies a guarantee in these Booking Conditions, which cannot be legally excluded, our liability for breach of said guarantee will be limited to restocking the services or paying the cost of having the services rendered again.
19.3 (Indemnification) You will indemnify us (and all of our subsidiaries, officers, employees, contractors and agents) against all losses, claims actions, proceedings, damages, costs and expenses (including legal fees) arising from any third party claim arising directly. or indirectly from or in relation to:
(a) your access to or use of the Services, this includes your delegate's access to or use of the Services; Y
(b) any breach by you (or your delegate) of:
(i) these Booking Conditions; or
(ii) any additional terms applicable to the provision of the Services,
except to the extent that such loss or damage is the direct result of our fraud or willful misconduct.
19.4 (Third parties) We contract with a network of companies, activity providers, accommodation providers, airlines, coach and transfer companies, tour and local guides, government agencies, independent contractors and individuals to assist in the operation of our trips as an agent for these third parties (Provider external). External providers can also contract the services of local operators and subcontractors. Although we take all reasonable steps to select reputable third-party providers, we cannot be held responsible for their acts or omissions. Any service provided by third party providers may be subject to the terms and conditions imposed by these Third Party Providers, and you may be required to sign additional terms set forth in clause 13. These may limit or exclude the liability of the Third Party Provider. You acknowledge that Third Party Providers operate in accordance with the applicable laws of the countries in which they operate. We do not guarantee that any Third Party Provider will comply with the laws of your country of residence or any other jurisdiction.
We are not responsible for the acts and omissions, whether negligent or not, of these Third Party Providers. Any dispute between you and any third party must be resolved solely between you and that party.
19.5 (vicarious liability) We will not be held vicariously liable for the willful or negligent acts of any person not employed by us or for any willful or negligent actions of our employees committed while they are off duty or outside the course and scope of their employment.
20.Optional activities
Optional activities not included in the price of the trip are not part of the trip or this contract. You agree that any help, recommendation or advice given by your group leader or local representative in organizing optional activities (even before or after a trip) does not make us responsible for them in any way. The contract for the provision of that activity will be between you and the activity provider.
- Claims and Complaints
If you have a complaint about your trip, please inform your group leader or our local representative at that time so they can try to rectify the matter. If you believe that your complaint has not been resolved through these means, then any additional complaint must be put in writing to us within 30 days of the end of the trip through our General Inquiries page.
- Divisibility
Suppose that any term or condition contained in these Booking Conditions is inapplicable or void due to the operation of the law or because it is against public order or for any other reason. In that event, let us assume that such term or condition will be deemed separate from this agreement or modified accordingly only to the extent necessary to allow all remaining terms and conditions to survive and remain binding.
- Privacy Policy
Any personal information that we collect about you will be handled by our Privacy Policy and may be used for any purpose associated with running a trip. By making this reservation, you agree that this information is transmitted to relevant persons, such as our agents, service providers or other providers, to allow us to operate the trip or, if allowed by all relevant spam laws, to send you marketing material about our events and special offers.
You are responsible for reviewing this Privacy Policy periodically and being informed of any changes to this Privacy Policy.
